Anyone from Chernobyl or Three Mile Island ?

I'm from a zone that had a lot of radioactive fallout after an explosion on   Chernobyl nuclear reactor in 1986. I lived there for 10 years before moving to US. I was recently diagnosed with BC;  lumpectomy should give more info on my exact diagnosis, but I was already told that radiation is a  standard  treatment anyways. I'm afraid that because I was exposed to low levels of  radiation and also ingested a lot of contaminated food  while living there radiation treatment poses a significant risk for me now.  Does anyone know anything about radiation treatment of survivors of nuclear disasters at Chernobyl or Three Mile Island?
