Decision made: DIEP flap on 6/10/16

After months of research and making the most difficult decision of my life I am now scheduled for bilateral mastectomies with immediate reconstruction (DIEP flap) on Friday, June 10 @ 7:30am. Any advice on post op homecare is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good luck. Take at easy using arms no lifting. Immediate reconstruction can look much nicer. I didn't have it my DIEP was 4 months later but I thought recovery was good no hiccups. The result was good too.

Hello JACTsmom..I just scheduled mine today for June 22..but if you go to DIEP 2016 the ladies over there gave me a lot of useful information on recovery. Best of luck to you.

Good choice! I had mine on 3/1/16, and haven't regretted it for a minute.
