My husband has been on Tamoxifen for 3 years post breast cancer /mastectomy/ chemo/ rads.

His sweat is bleaching colored bed sheets ?? His side is bleached out and my side is fine. I find this really weird and wondering if anyone else hasexperienced this? Perhaps it's a guy on tamoxifen thing?

never heard of this but figured I would google sweat bleaching sheets and found many posts - not many answers - but evidently this is a problem that others have, esp those that sweat A LOT. several blamed it on benzol peroxide or other acne medications. Others did not use that product and still had the problem. so if we focus on sweating a lot - and the fact that tamoxifen causing night sweats, then tamoxifen is the trigger - but isn't probably causing some weird chemical change in your husband. Here is the most useful thread - http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview/id/485263.html it actually lists the composition of sweat - mostly water but then stuff like lactic acid!!! oh there were also some threads where people were discussing preferences light color sheets or dark/faded sheets. Hope your husband is doing well otherwise!!!!

It sounds like he's experiencing hot flashes....a low (37.5 mg) dose of effexor, the only SSRI that doesn't affect tamoxifen effectiveness, might help. It's not an rx that would be given to treat depression, and is used expressly for hot flashes because of the drugs rx'd to prevent recurrence, like tamox.

He should talk to his oncologist about it.
