Light purple area on side of breast after lumpectomy

My lumpectomy was 2 days ago and the side of my breast is light purple and firm. I wonder if I am getting the start of a hematoma and if there is anything I can do about it? i did take ibuprofen today... twice. My surgical instructions said I could so i took it place of a pain pill.

It hurts a bit but is not terribly painful, but is tender.

IS this somehting you would call your doc about or is it normal?

Call you surgeon and talk to him/her. IF there is an issue that needs to be checked out - it is your Dr who can give you advice - not us.

Thanks Kicks. I do not have a fever and feel great so I was curious if this is common?
