Hi, I had delayed DIEP reconstruction in May 2013. My last surgery "tweak" was May 2015. Two weeks ago I started having a constant burning pain in the reconstructed breast. it is a localized pain in the area of my original tumor and also goes into my underarm area where my nodes were taken. I have not had any feeling or pain in my reconstructed breast or underarm so of course this new development has me concerned as it was my understanding I would not have much chance of nerve regeneration or feeling on that side. I have seen the N.P. at my oncologist and was physically examined. I was advised to continue to take 800 mg of Ibuprofen (left over from previous surgeries) and to use tylenol for break through pain which I've had to do. Has anyone else who has had the DIEP and this far out from surgery had this experience of burning constant pain? Just looking for some feedback while I wait out the 7-10 days of taking the anti inflammatory before going back to see the oncologist. Thank you in advance.
