Tamoxifen when to start

Options

I just finished my radiation and the Dr told me it was ok to wait a week to start the tamoxifen I was just wondering when everyone started to take their tamoxifen and why does it not matter when you start. I am very nervous about starting it. I am 65 I had a hyster about 30 years ago Will I still have hot flashes? because I already had menopause

Any woman who are in their sixties and already had menopause and are taking tamoxifen , how do you feel I need some good feedback. Nervous in New York thank you

I started it about a week after finishing radiation. My doctors were fine with that, and it was nice to have a few days where I wasn't going to radiation and wasn't taking medication, either. Sort of a little mental break.

I finished rad two weeks ago and the pharmacist told me to wait a few weeks before I start tamoxifen. I'm taking my first dose tonight before I go to bed....I'm 61 and have never taken any drugs. After reading extensively about the side effects, I'm scared.

I was on Arimidex for almost a year with rough side effects. My MO switched me to Tamoxifen and I started the next day. I had very few SEs. Like you, I was 63 at diagnosis and was through menopause after having my uterus removed in my 40s. My MO explained that my extra weight carried hormones too. Next I concentrated on losing weight
