I will start. Has anyone had discord with fam. members since diagnosis?

It would aggravate me too much to go into detail, but I have had nothing but discord with most family members who were told of my dx, which is not very many because they behave so badly in less stressful situations that I didn't want to tell most of them. I was able to get away with keeping the dx to myself because I didn't have chemo, so didn't lose my hair, and I also don't live near any of them. So I have no strategies for coping to share, except to avoid the problem people entirely. haha

No I have not. My family has been great. But, I have read some of the other posts in here and they are having problems with family. My sisters are busy with their lives, but I feel if I needed to call on them they would help me. My mother calls me every few days and comes once a week or once every other week and helps me clean my bathrooms.

My aunt the really religious one acts like I don't exist anymore. She never asks how I am doing when she talks to my Mom.

not discord per say but my mother in law who found out about it 10 days ago practically demanded my DHs attention he went to visit her and bought her a new appliance. It sure looks that dh has to visit her again within the next few days. This made me absolutely speechless

P.S she has two grown daughters and three grown grandchildren near by

not at all but I know that some folks just don't know what to say or how to act and some maya be so emotional that they are afraid to face you for fear they'll break down and make you feel worse. IMHO
