Burning sensation on face during treatment?

I'm getting external beam radiation of my breast, chest wall and axilla, so why do I feeling the "heat/burning" sensation on my lower jaw, chin and sometimes ear lobe?? I asked the technician about this and he said that those areas aren't anywhere near the fields of treatment. So then why am I feeling this? I'm not imagining it. It definitely feels like this area is getting exposed. Even after treatment it feels like the boob does, kinda tingly and sunburnt. I left a message for my RO, but she hasn't gotten back to me. I am really bothered by this. Could the Radiation scatter be traveling to other parts of my body and exposing them? Also does anyone else wear protective glasses during treatment, lead covers or anything like that?? Thx!
