How long did it take to get your Biopsy results?
Hello everyone, I went in for my needle core biopsy last Tuesday the 26th and still haven't got my results back yet. :-(. I called Dr Friday and yesterday and they said the last report they received said pathology pending. The radiologist that did my ultrasound said the lump looks benign and so did the radiologist that did my biospy they said it is oval and smooth and looks like Fibroadenoma but they did biopsy just in case because my mom was diagnosed at 36. I am 33. That all would have put my mind at ease but I have swelling in my armpit and aching pain and sharp pain in my breast and they said probably fibrocystic breast issues. I will feel much better when I get the call and know for sure! It has been a week now it is ridiculous!

Thank you! I definitely will

Hopeful it all comes back b-9.
I was told 3 days, but it took another day or so .
Rather to have them be thorough and take a little longer.

Thank you for responding, yes I agree I want them to get it right. I felt the lump on the 6th of April this has just taken a huge toll on me emotionally and physically I just want to know what it is I am dealing with and go from there
-
mine took 8 days, which included a long holiday weekend. Hope you get good benign results soon!

Thank you Anne! I am going to try calling Dr again tomorrow to check, no Dr is there on Fridays I do not want to wait another weekend
-
You should NOT have to wait until over the weekend. Three to four days is the norm. The squeaky wheel gets the oil! Good luck and keep us posted....

My biopsy was on a Wednesday and thee doctor called with results on Friday, just two days. Good luck. Waiting is hard.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I called my Dr office again this morning and the receptionist/medical assistant said they don't have the results yet and she would call Sutter Imaging and find out what is going on. I waited 3 hours and called back and she said she called and put in a request with the medical records dept and they are going to fax my info over to her and she will show Dr and then call me back. It's all so ridiculous tomorrow will be day 9 since my biopsy. :-

Good job! You have to speak up. Good luck and please keep us posted....

Thank you! I will!

Ok finally 9 days later I received my results Benign Fibroadenoma. Sutter faxed to my OBGYN in error. The receptionist at my Dr tried reading them over the phone :-( she didn't understand the report so I went to Dr office and picked it up from her. No Dr was available to talk to. Things really need to be handled the right way in situations so serious it's upsetting. Imagine if my results were not good news and she was reading report to me? Anyway thank you all for your input and support. Hopefully my posts will help someone else too

SO happy your results are b-9.
You would think people in health care would be more conscious of what/who they are sending things to.
This reminds me of my surgical appt. for a polypectomy...and they FORGOT to schedule me (no one got the fax from the OBGYN office)....I had expected a call with information and when none arrived, I called them. Thankfully, they were able to "fit me in." Isn't that a comforting thought...getting shoved between surgical patients on a full day...for surgery with anesthesia. OY!SO wish we did not have to hold their hands for good care, but good for you to continue to follow up!
