Nausea from ascites

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for help for my mom. She has mets to her liver and has been dealing with terrible nausea and hardly eating because of it. She has fluid drained last week, but it seems like she has gotten worse, not better. She's still weak and run down. Because she can't keep stuff down, she hasn't been able to take her xeloda.

Her doctor has given her compazine (which didn't work) and zofran (which really isn't helping and giving her headaches).

Is there something else she could/should try? Or is this something she needs to push thru. I just hate sitting around and watching her get worse.

I'm so sorry your mom is having this terrible time. This sounds like a question for the Stage 4 ladies - if you could copy/paste this message in the Stage 4 forum I'm sure you will get responses.
