Diana- I can't really provide any insight but I'm sorry to hear of this setback. Hopefully somebody will come along that can help. In the meantime, I'm thinking of you and hoping for a quick recovery

Sending love, Diana. Hang tough, baby. SUE

I've got a stent on the right side. I've had it for just over 2 months now. I have a lymph node pressing on the ureter and not letting the kidney drain and my kidney was heading for failure. Within 2 days of getting the stent, my kidney function was back to normal.
I have what is called a nephroureteral stent. That means I have a tube hanging out of my back that can connect to a bag in case of a problem with the stent, but is usually just capped and taped to my back. The internal stent goes from my kidney, through the ureter, and into my bladder, so I can urinate normally.
It's been okay. The stent has to be changed every 8 weeks or so and I have to go to the hospital every 2 weeks to have the dressings on my back changed by the nurse.
Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll do my best to answer from my experience.

Diane, sure glad you are going home. I hope the stents improve things for you. Hang in there.

With a heavy heart, I wanted to let you know that diana50, Diana Mehrens, is an angel now. Her cousin posted this on her facebook page tonight.
"I heard the sad news that my cousin Diana has passed. I know that she's had a long struggle with cancer. I will miss Diana and her great wisdom. She has been an important part of our extended family, and I am grieving for this loss now. I have such great memories of my childhood, with the Hoffmans and the Mehrens together. I still miss Diana's wonderful mother and father. Now I send special love out to Diana's surviving sister, Linda. For all who knew and loved Diana, I send warm thoughts that we will honor this very special woman."
