My husband and I share a wonderful and fulfilling sex life. I am curious as to what I can expect while going through chemo. I know I will be tired so I expect the sex to diminish for this reason. Anyone else want to weigh in?

For us it went from plenty to zero really fast, but it was actually ok. There was lots of hugs and cuddling, tender moments, sweet whispers and I Love You's . I was miserable through chemo and surgeries but my husband took such incredibly good care of me. You don't really know the strength you will find in someone else till you go through something like this together. He cooked, cleaned and shopped while I laid on the couch and cried about how horrible everything tasted. Bald and stinking of chemicals, sex was the last thing on my mind. Then there was reconstruction with incisions and drains. While healing it seemed like every position hurt something.

I'm on an AI now and it was causing low libido and dryness. Luckily I'm now having success with Replens and a new Astroglide product called "Diamond". I'm two years out from my dx and our sex life is just starting to get back to normal. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but it may be different for everyone.

Good luck to you. Ask your MO about the recommendation for condoms during chemo to protect your partner from the drugs and you from infection.
