Lump in my armpit on cancer side
Hi ladies - Just found a small hard lump in my armpit. Feels like it is under a cm and is hard and immovable. Of course that is my cancer side. My onc always checks that area when she does the physical exam. This is higher than the sentinel node scar. Luckily I have an apt with my PCP tomorrow. Just want to ask about how others have found their recurrence and did it present like this?

Just wanted to pop in and sent you some support, FL. I hope it turns out to be nothing at all. Please keep us posted - and I'll keep you in my heart.
-
Thanks Hopeful! It means sooo much to me to hear from you. Ugh. Say it ain't so.
-
Farmerlucy- I'm sending hugs and mojo too. And sayin it ain't so. Glad you can see someone right away.
-
I know - there's that sick, sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach that doesn't go away until you find out there's a non-cancer reason for the lump (or whatever), isn't there? I'm glad you've got an appt. tomorrow but am sure it still feels as though it couldn't possibly come soon enough. Hang in there... ((( ))))

My recurrence was a hard lump near my original tumor site. Be sure they follow up with imaging and/or biopsy. Do not let them just say, "this feels like scar tissue" etc. keep us posted. Sorry for your added stress
-
Thanks Jackbird, Hopeful, and Kbee. I love you guys!
I'm just going to put this out of my mind (and call my onc first thing tomorrow!)
Thanks again. I'll keep you posted.

(((((((Jill)))))))) just seeing this. Ugh I hate this for you. I hope it turns out to be nothing. Please keep me posted. I'm thinking of you - stupid cancer always scaring us.

Farmerlucy, I am sorry, and I am praying it is nothing to worry about. But do take kbeee's advice! Will be thinking of you.
-
farmerlucy...My cousin just went through exactly the same thing about 2 years after her bc diagnosis and it was benign! Keep the faith. Good luck and keep us posted
-
Oh you guys are THE best! It feels smaller and softer this morning, I'll still ask the doctor about it, but I think it's ok.
When I was dx last time I felt so alone. It is so comforting to know if and when I have to deal with this stuff again my sisters are there for me. Thank you so much!
-
farmer We got your back, rounding up the troops!
-
Thanks charger!! Right back at ya

Ok here is the update. Feeling a little foolish. My PCP said it was an oily cyst very common in women from shaving their underarm. Duh. Learn something new everyday. Thanks again my friends.
-
That's zit! (Sorry, it was too easy). Glad for the false alarm
-
Girl! You're too funny! Add that one to your standup comedy routine!
-
Glad to hear that, FL, but no need to feel foolish. It may be common, but not in your experience, right? I would bet you've educated ALL of us with this info.
ChiSandy - zing!
PS - Doing a VERY happy dance for you, FL! -
Thanks Hopeful!
This is one time I was thrilled to have a zit!
-
Don't ever feel foolish. It's a good thing you know your body well enough to observe for those subtle changes. Glad to hear it's nothing to worry about!
-
That's great
-
Thanks KBeee and Smurfette!
-
I'm so happy for you Jill. You know what? I would have thought the exact same thing. Cancer scars us for life.
Hugs

Wow, you can tell that I've been out of town and unconnected! I just about came unglued when I saw the banner at the top of your post....read as fast as I could until I got the good news. Omg, I was scared. So glad it is a zit! I have one on my face to probably match yours!
We have been in Napa on our anniversary trip and now in SF. Had Wifi tonight.....
So glad you are ok, my friend.

Aww thanks Brenda! Yeah, it was disconcerting to feel that thing. Napa for your anniversary? Sounds wonderful! Have a safe trip home and dodge those tornadoes! Hug!
-
Brenda, congratulations on your anniversary! Enjoy your vacation together.
