Can someone explain to me why some women who have DCIS non invasive do not have to take any hormonal treatment. I was DX with DCIS grade i had a lumpectomy everything came out great. I now my 3 week of rads After that I start tamoxifen 20mg for 5 years. I am 65 had a hyster. when I was in my 30 so I went thru menopause already. The said I was estrogen positive. The question I have is why do some women have to take something and some dont. Is is because of the estrogen. please advise. thank you
