Hi All,

I'm new to the forum but have been lurking over the months as I've progressed through my journey.

I wanted to start this post because I learned some information recently that I thought more of us should be aware of. One of my girlfriend's sons is a rep for the company that makes the SPY machines. He obviously told me he would never recommend any family or friend go in for a reconstruction unless the doctor used a SPY. Although he may be biased, I could see the value in his advice.

What he also told me was that all patients should be aware of what ADM is being used. Apparently all medical devices are held to strict sterility requirements, but ADMs fall under a different category and some are only aseptic, possibly leading to increased infection rates. He said he's seen more doctors using a product called Dermacell. I haven't had a conversation with my PS about this yet but I plan on bringing it up to hear what he has to say.

Just more of an FYI than anything, as I feel we should all be aware of exactly what our surgeons are doing and what they using.
