Advice,,ibc??

so i had skin punch biopsy 2 weeks ago came back neg,,,found out she used the smallest punch a 2cm mm??.Symptoms still present swelling,redness,warm,disharge,orange peel,indentions,etc.

Had mammogram diagnostic the the other day lead to ultrasound which is now leading to mri n prolly another biopsy.as he seen skin retraction ,archiculture distortion,it reads plus he discussed ""skin retraction w new band of opacity within subareolar portion of right breast w associated architural distortion.,,,,,,also scattered fibrograndular densities.

I was dx w dcis 8 yras ago ,,,,,ive been on 2 rds of bactrium,1 rd of augumentin,2 cipro n nothing is helping wish we could add pics ..,

So should i see what mri brings or push for another skin punch.im so over this and my gut plus angry boob is telling me not to give up. Ty all

i wouldn't put too much stock in the skin punch biopsy but the regular biopsy is a different story, that you need. And an MRI might be good. I had skin biopsies at the beginning that were clear, but I still had IBC. I am not saying that I think you have IBC but I am saying that the skin part may not be the most important.

thank you,,,guess i needed confirmation that im not crazy.ya know that gut feeling same feeling i had 8 years ago when told i was to young geesh.,,ive been reading up on the skin punch biopsy and learning it can miss it as well,my breast is worse and you read all the antibiotics ive endured.They scheduled the mri for 2 weeks out for ins approval,thank goodness for the radiologist for pushing for further testing and biopsies.question??regular biopsy as in fna,,,surgical,,,what should i press for??thank you so much for responding,,,itll make ya feel crazy.o n noy to mention mom had bc,,,,her mom ibc,,took 6 months to dx,,,,1 aunt w ovarian,,1 aunt w breast and myself w dcis..,

IBC is aggressive and rapid - literally witinin hours/days in presentation/progression - not more than a year after presenting as you have been posting about.

There has to be a known area of suspecion to biopsy - not just blindly hitting 'somewhere'. A biopsy has to have an area of suspicion to be done on. IF there is an area of concern in breast - then a biopsy should be done on that area. ( By the way - I had no visible skin issues when my FNB was positive for IBC. . It was 7 days from when it presented til I had DX and 17 days til in neoadjuvant Chemo.

Of course, anything is possible so you do need to find out what is going on. An appt with a Dermatologist might be a good idea for your skin issues.

You said you were DCIS 8 yrs ago but did not mention any any TX or follow-up since.

Im not sure where ur getting a year these symptoms have been 3 months if that..,,,.i had a pap something removed a yr ago

Yes and i updated i had a papilloma removed and things were fine for awhile ,,,things were good up to about 2 1/2 mayb 3 months ago ,,and these things came about fast and havent left.

As for the dcis i had a lumpectomy,,,radiation,,,

Don't give up aliciaboo. I didn't see your earlier questions before they were deleted, but the symptoms you listed in this last post are the same that I had when I was diagnosed with IBC. It started with sharp pains in my breast at night, and I awoke the next morning to redness and swelling. No rash on my skin, it just looked sunburned and the heat coming off of it was intense until I started chemo. The orange peel came a week later. I never had a skin punch biopsy, so I can't help with that. I hope your MRI gives you better info. and you don't have to fight this beast with us.

thank you.,,i dont understand yes i had some concerning issues about 9 months a year ago and they were dismissed as a papa something removed behind ducts .

I also have been taking pics of the drastic changes and dating them.,

I almost feel as if im on trial.ty again

I have terrible pains in there like someone is twisting from the inside out,,,my areola is very thick w nipple retraction.

She did do the skin punch in areola and like 2 inches from it but radiologist thought she should of biopsied in a diff area ??
