    They studied only those on low-fat/high-produce diets (a la Ornish) vs. those who ate what they wanted. I suspect (as does the BC survivorship program head at my cancer center) that loading up on fruits & vegetables not only reduces one's appetite & capacity for other foods but also reduces one's total caloric intake. I'd like to see the low-fat/high-produce diet studied vis-a-vis low-carb/high produce, ketogenic, paleo and organized diets such as WW, Jenny Craig, Seattle Sutton and NutriSystem. I wouldn't be surprised if the common denominator was not avoiding fat but avoiding junk foods and thereby reducing BMI.

    Remember that everything you eat turns into blood sugar, muscle glycogen, stored fat or poop.
