calcifications after first BC?

    I just had my first follow-up (6 months.) The mammagram/ ultrasound showed calcifications (large one near lumpectomy scar and smaller ones nearby in a cluster.) The oncologist doesn't think it's significant but since the radiologist suggested a biopsy, one has been scheduled.

    Has anyone else had these? I haven't had any before so this is new to me.

    I also just had my 6-month mammo with a new cluster of calcification. Waiting for biopsy results. How did your story turn out?

    I had the stereotypic biopsy done. Because it was from the breast (that previously had radiation,) there was no 'give.' They had to do six biopsies to get decent calcifications (ouch!) Anyway, it turned out to be necrotic fat calcifications. Yay! Good luck on yours!! :)
