Eye protection during radiation treatment?

Options

My breast surgeon told me today I will have "breast conserving surgery" in a couple weeks. Mine was discovered via biopsy of micro calcs. Then I will probably have whole breast radiation after surgery. Of course he said we'll talk more about my treatment plan after surgery and that pathology report.

Of course I will talk to the radiation oncologist when the time comes, but can I request protective eye wear for during radiation?.

I am extremely nearsighted, have already been diagnosed with "neovascularization" (a precursor to macular degeneration, which my also very nearsighted father developed at around my age (52) and so lost most of his sight in one eye).

I've had to have eye injections because of this to keep it in check and hopefully won't damage my retina.

So as you can probably imagine, I don't want any cancer treatments messing with my eyes if I can possibly help it
