Everolimus and Exemestane
I am new to posting....just after some information on the drugs Everolimus and Exemestane . I am starting both of these tomorrow. Just wondering if any of you ladies have had good results with these. I have mets to the bones and liver. Had paclitaxel and then was on letrozole for 4 months. Liver tumor has increased slightly in size. Tumor markers are 7.7 . Have found this forum very comforting 😀 thankyou

Lyndal, welcome! And sorry you had to join our boards, but happy you found us! We're sure other members will welcome you with open arms soon, this is an amazing group of people!
You may find the main Breastcancer.org site helpful too, especially the sections on Afinitor (chemical name: everolimus) and Aromasin (chemical name: exemestan), and the following article: Afinitor Added to Aromasin Slows Advanced-Stage Breast Cancer Growth
Let us know how you're doing. Hope treatment is kind to you and works well to reduce the mets soon.(((HUGS)))

Hi Lyndal,
Here are two conversations on the combination that have plenty of entries over a long period

I will bump them both for you, so you can see them on the Forum 8 main page.
very good wishes, Stephanie

Hi Lyndal13
I have been on this combo since Oct 2015. My recent CT scan and hip mri show I am stable. This combo has not been difficult for me. I did get steriod mouth rinse that I used twice a day for the first month so I was able to avoid mouth sores. I use it occassionally if I burn my mouth on pizza so mouth sores won't take hold. My other big SE was sky high cholesterol. This came down with addition to lipitor.
I hope this combo works well for you. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Peace
Mary

Hey Lyndal!
So glad you posted this. I am starting this in the next few weeks too. I have to start with Lupron first though to get me into menopause. I am going to try looking at the other boards too.

Hi Mary and Renee
Have been taking this combination for just over 2 weeks now. Have had some mouth ulcers but nothing i can't handle ☺ have been using bicarb mouth wash which works ok...have a script for a steroid mouthwash but haven't got it yet. I have type 2 diabetes as well and my sugar is up slightly. Thanks for your responses ☺ i am interested in following your journeys on these medications.
