Friday's the worst day for a mammo..

I had my first mammogram today, age 35, dimpling under one breast and pain. had the 3D mammogram done.. Doctors usually give results immediately, but she was gone for the day and is off Monday so no results til Tuesday! Ughhhh. The next few days will be hard

I asked the tech who I know can't tell me anything, if she saw anything, and she said no. I said so nothing big or scary? And she just said no, but have to let the doctor look as she can see things she can't, just try not to worry. It gave me a twinge of reassurance but not really ! So scared!

Are you talking about your Dr or the radiologist is out? If the radiologist, bummer that you have to wait. If you are referring to your Dr being out, then I think you are in good shape. Here's why: the diagnostic mammogram that was used to detect my cancer took most of the afternoon, which ended with the radiologist wanting to chat with me. My other mammograms only took a few minutes and my Dr gave me the benign results days later....so, no chat with radiologist =good!

Thank you for your reply!! I think the tech was referring to the radiologist. I went to a breast center and they will give results to me directly. The tech said "the doctor will review the mammogram and will call if she sees anything that requires further testing" otherwise they will email me report on Tuesday I guess?
