Question about neck/throat and voice

Hi All,

I am on Adriamycin and Taxol right now (only one more dose to go!) and each time, my neck where the port goes in gets progressively more sore (1st time was mild and lasted a couple of days, 2nd time a little longer, this third time it's like I pulled a muscle) I may have pulled a muscle because it's also Spring Allergy season so I have had coughing and sneezing - but the last two times, I have gotten laryngitis and been really "dry" and have the pain in my neck that goes out to my shoulder on occasion (not always in my shoulder). Has anyone else had this or do you think it's a combination of the allergies and the chemo? This time is really sore to cough and I have iced my neck, which helps some. I don't have a fever and no "heat" on the sore area - so I don't believe it's an infection. But my voice is strained today (had my treatment 7 days ago - started around day 5). There is a tiny stitch left in there that I need them to get out - it's been slowly working itself out and they clip it each time. Not sure if it's allergies or a side effect. I plan to talk to the RN tomorrow when I do my blood work....I have 12 rounds of Paxitacel to come, so if it's a port issue, I need to get that fixed :(

Thanks,

Jen
