I'm so glad I found this community! Trying to keep myself busy but..... Yeah, right!

About 6 weeks ago, I found a small, hard lump. I actually dreamt about it prior to finding it! I had just had my GYN appointment and was nearing my period. Since the doc felt nothing and my boobs get angry before my period AND we were going on vacation, I decided to wait it out. Period came, lump stayed, returned from vacation and scheduled a mammogram.

I had the mammo & ultrasound the same day. Radiologist suspects cancer, as I also have a swollen lymph node. Again, my biopsy was yesterday. I can expect results late Monday.

I have no family history and my only risk factor is that I had children after 30. I'm healthy, active, don't smoke, rarely drink, and I'm 43. This weekend will be pure torture! I've been up & down emotionally. I'm trying to learn all I can because I need to. The more I learn, the more confident I become. The radiologist who did the biopsy says it is about a centimeter. it is also heart shaped and solid. I'm prepared to be given bad news.

On top of this, my case is complicated by breast implants I had done 16 years ago. If I have cancer, they may have saved my life-- the lump is on top of it and was easy to find. If the implant hadn't been there, I might not know I had it! From what I've read, implants & radiation are not a good combo. So even if I'm early stage, a mastectomy may be the best option. The thought is terrifying because getting my boobs done was a vanity thing.

I guess I'm looking for others in the same boat, particularly with the lymph node. I know that 80% of biopsies are negative, but the node, the radiologist, & the dream I had really give me the feeling I'm in the 20%.

Twaz, try to stay calm until you receive your results. No need to jump to any conclusions!

But, you're right, knowledge is power. And once you know what this lump is, you'll be able to deal with it appropriately.

We're all sending our best thoughts and please keep us posted with your results!
