Stereotactic exam showed no cancer. I know I should be happy but still feel very uncomfortable with results. the reason is They put me through a bunch of test. Radiologist that did the ultrasound biopsy claimed he could not see anything. Even though the ultrasound tech had it all marked. then he wrote report wrong. when I called about the report and the fact he removed all reports from patient portal, I was lied to by superviosr. then had MRI WHICH clearly showed lesions in two areas. Had a Stereotactic core biopsy and it shows no cancer. I am feeling like I need a second opinion. since they have ran me crazy and have down so many test and been lied to. would you trust the results and move on or get second opinion? by the way I forgot to mention. the radiologist is involved in two malpractice suits due to failing to diagnose cancer on 2 patients. one lady was given clean bill of health for 6 years and due to insurance change had to go to different facilities and was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. they new doc said it should have been caught a long time ago.

I'd definitely consider a second opinion. But I'd probably start by talking with your PCP and seeing if they have copies of all of the reports and of the imaging. Discuss the whole series of events and see if you can enlist their help if arranging a second opinion--ideally at a BC Center.

It's hard to tell where the difficulty lay. In reading the MRI? In reading the US? In doing the biopsy? And the follow-up lack of transparency doesn't help your comfort level, particularly when you discover that the radiologist may not have been the best choice.

Ideally, you want someone who reads breast imaging scans of various sorts all day, day in and day out. With any luck, your PCP will be able to help you find that sort of expertise for your second opinion.

We are close to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. I am going to take copies of everything to my appointment on the 8th. But don't want my doc or them to think I am a hypochondriac and want cancer.
