Period not returning after surgery

I've searched on this a little and I have stumbled on only a little - not enough to know anything for sure.

I can't say where I am in regards to peri-menapaouse, but I do keep track of my period so I know I'm pretty regular with not much exception. I had just finished my period when I went in for my BMX, and I am pretty overdue for my period now with no signs whatsoever of it coming.

As I told the NP I saw yesterday, I am not pg, no way, no how, no chance. She hadn't heard of my situation, so really had nothing to add.

I did discuss with her how for the first week or two after surgery I had the regular feeling that I got when I was breastfeeding of my milk "letting down". She said she had heard of that from other patients. I was only half joking when I said maybe my hormones were reacting and causing my body to either think it's pg or that I am actually breastfeeding and therefore I'm not getting my period. I don't get that let down feeling as strongly or as frequently as I did in the beginning, but I do still get some "feeling" that I think is hormonal. Maybe this has nothing to do with it, too. Just my hypothesis.

Has anyone else experienced their period not returning/being delayed or know if it's possibly related to surgery?

I think this is fairly common, your cycle can be disrupted by stress hormones and anesthesia. This link is concerning augmentation, but the answers from plastic surgeons are consistent that surgery can cause a delayed or missed cycle.
