Having Reconstruction on Affected Side

I am having another plastic surgery in May. They are taking out the implants and putting in new ones and fat grafting. Is there anything that I need to do for the arm that was on the breast cancer side in hopes not to get lymphedema?

Hi Mandy,

If you have a history of lymphedema, you'll want to let your doctors know prior to surgery, according to the main Breastcancer.org site's page on Additional Surgery or Other Treatments After a Lymphedema Diagnosis. There's also some good tips on that page about how to proactively address your concerns prior to surgery.
