My initial mammo and follow up spot compression mammo showed a 7mm tubular area of concern in left breast with asymetrical sensw tissue. Ultrasound tech preform the US twice and was unable to find the spot. I waiting on my report. Anyone ever had this happen to them? What was the outcome? If they give me a choice 6 month follow up or a biopsy, what would you recommend? I'm anxious (of course) but trying to understand and accept whatever the outcome.

I would definitely have a breast MRI and if still unable to diagnose then a biopsy. Im not saying its malignant just think you need to know what it is. Remember most lumps are benign. Im not in favor of the wait and see approach. Good luck and keep us posted....

I would agree with getting an MRI done. Lumps can show up on different imaging tests depending on where they are in the breast and what kind of tissue they are made of. I'm currently waiting on biopsy results for a lump that was seen on MRI but not on mammogram or ultrasound.

If they give you a choice about doing a biopsy then it really is about what will make you feel better. A biopsy is not a hard procedure though so don't let that sway your decision.
