Let me know if this is encouraging, -Invasive Moderately differentiated ductal carcinoma. -Nottingham score 6/9 (2+3+1) in this limited material. -The invasive tumor measures at least 2.6cm. -No definitive Ductal carcinoma in situ identified. -No microcalcifications identified. -No Lymphovascular invasion identified. ER- Positive 90% strong unclear staining. PR- Positive 90% strong unclear staining. HER2- Negative (0/1+ membrane staining)

Do you have an appointment to discuss it with either a surgeon or a medical oncologist? Maybe even both? You will get your best read on it from someone who sees this pathologists reports regularly and can perhaps see some subtextual information.

But we can try to help in the meantime. The circumstances will affect how the text you quote is interpreted. Can you tell us: Was the tissue examined from a biopsy? or from a surgery? If it was a surgery, what type? Did it include a SNB?

My best guess, given the "in this limited material" text is that it's from a biopsy, which means whatever it says, things could change with a larger sample from a surgery.

But there are certainly some things that are encouraging there. For instance, the ER+/PR+ means that anti-hormonal treatments will be available. No microcalcifications identified & no lymphvascular invasion identified are both good things.

As a general rule, HER2 negative is good, and ER positive is good, meaning you can take medication that is highly effective in fighting recurrence.
