off topic......My son is getting married!
I'm so excited and happy about this!! Yet I'm lying in bed worrying about money. So, does anyone have a dress that is any shade of gray that I might borrow or purchase from you cheap? For a mother of the groom dress? I think I'm a size 22 maybe? My jean size is 22 but a little loose. I carry my weight in my srms and belly. My arms are heavy so I can't do sleeveless.

I'm the same size, but my stuff is very "beatnik". I have had luck with eBay.com and etsy.com for nice dresses at a good price. Given our shapes, you could try getting a nice slip dress in a solid color, with a hip length light jacket to go over it. Pop on a nice scarf or colorful pendant necklace, and outfit accomplished.

Great news, HopeFaith!
I have no dress that would suit, but I have friends who haunt consignment fashion shops and they often find wonderful clothes and accessories at bargain prices.

What wonderful news this is. Congratulations. My daughter got married last year and it is such a special time. I wish I could help you out with the dress but we are not even close to the same size or I would give you mine. I am not sure how well you are feeling or how you feel about this but maybe try the Goodwill stores. They are very cheap there. Of course it is pot luck so you might have to be able to repeatedly recheck at your local stores. Maybe a friend could help you check there. My mother didn't want to spend the money on my daughters wedding last year. She was able to find one at Goodwill for just a few dollars and it was actually pretty. Just a thought. Congratulations again. I am sure your son could care less what you wear, I'm sure he is happy that you will be there.

thank you for all the positive responses! I did look up David's bridal and some of the dresses are very affordable. I imagined them more expensive. Thanks again! !
