Prednisone Treatment

I am wondering if anyone else had to go on prednisone to help boost their white cell count? I have been having a really hard time with my white cells coming up for each chemo treatment. It seems to be taking 6 weeks between treatments for them to pop back up. I am also taking neopogen injections too. I am praying the prednisone will be my answer. Any comparable stories would be appreciated.

    Sorry your having this response from chemo

    I'm pretty sure that prednisone knocks your WBC down even lower???? It's not a treatment for Low WBC. I may be wrong but when I was on high doses of it my white cells crashed and caused some nasty infections. My tx w prednisone was not chemo related. Someone with a more informed experience will respond...but with the neopogen shot your numbers should rise. Ask your MO about neulasta.
