I'm hoping to get some tips. It seems to vary so much. Please share

Your stats

Your expander filled cc's

Your implant cc's

Your final bra size

And feel free to share any other tips

I had my bilateral mast on 10/26 and delayed reconstruction started last week with expanders placed. Just wondering what to expect from here from experienced peeps

Thanks!

Hi there…I'm your height and weight. I had my tissue expanders filled to 360cc's then exchanged with Mentor smooth round ultra high profile implants 590cc's. I am happy with the size. (Would probably be happy a size smaller, too!)

I now wear a D or DD cup.

You may want to check out on the Breast Reconstruction board; there is a thread Breast Implant Sizing 101. You provide your stats and what type of tissue expanders you have and Whippetmom will help in determining a good size for you!

If you have any more questions for me...feel free to ask away! :) --Lorie

I am about your height and weight. I had tissue expanders filled to about 410 cc and now have Mentor Smooth Round High Profile implants, 350 cc.

    I wear about a 32D size bra.

I did not want to be too big as I am a runner and avid exerciser. I am very happy with the size of my new breasts, they are very proportional to my body, and I look curvy without being too big.

    Best wishes to you!

I'm 5'2, about 125 pounds. I am also a runner and pretty active. I had tissue expanders filled to 480cc and was expecting to go one size smaller during my exchange surgery. I woke up to Mentor Smooth Round High Profile implants, 500 cc. This puts me at a 34D bra size. These breasts are too large for me. I look top heavy, I have to make a conscious effort to not hunch over, and have backaches after my longer runs. Make sure your new size fits your lifestyle.

    Jijichicago-

Welcome to BCO! Thank you for sharing your experience. We're so sorry your implants are causing you problems. Have you considered sizing down at some point? We know the thought of another surgery is probably very unappealing, but it's good to review all your options in case you find these too difficult to live with!

Thank you for following up - I really appreciate it.

While I'm not happy with my size, it's something that I can live with and get used to. I am very thankful that the surgeries went smoothly, I had no complications, and I'm back to my "normal" life. Last year was full of doctor visits, surgeries, and recovery as I also had ovarian surgery. I want to keep moving forward :-)
