I had a cnb and lumpectomy one week ago today. My recovery was going exceptionally well, minimum pain with either incision site and almost minimal impact on mobility of my arm .Until yesterday ……;where the cnb area really started to hurt and the mobility in my arm has been reduced to just a small amount of movement with pain. I had not taken much in the way of prescription pain medication ( only 1 1/2 tabs of Percocet in the first 24 hours) but last night needed 1 tab evry 4 hours just to manage the pain lying in bed and not moving and today taking 1 tablet every 4 hours. It feels like my left side has been hit by a truck and there is searing burning at the cnb site as well as periodic shooting pain. The area does not appear to be infected so I am wondering why one week later I cant even turn over in bed or get up without help when everything was going so well.

optomist, I didn't have any experience like yours, but did do the LX, SNB at the same time. I was careful not to lift anything too heavy, etc and not over-do it.. I would advise you to call your surgeon, just to be on the safe side. I don't think that type of pain and dis-comfort is normal after one week...? I remember being sore and having some "shooting pains" once in a while, but nothing that tylenol couldn't alleviate. I hope everything is okay.
