Acid reflux from radiation

I started radiation 11 days ago and for the past week, I've had pretty bad acid reflux. Does anyone know if radiation can cause acid reflux? I usually don't suffer from it and currently sticking to an alkaline diet, so I'm not sure why this has come about, other than radiation, but it is pretty painful.

    It's not the radiation, but the position. Lots of us find that lying on our backs, with our arms over our heads, stresses that valve that keeps the acid in the stomach. Do talk with your RO, and maybe try a Tums or whatever before treatment. If you find you have asthma symptoms, that also (believe it or not) is probably from reflux.
