Spinal Mets that is not hormone receptive?

I guess I'm not even entirely sure what to ask b/c this is all so new to me. My mom was diagnosed, after 19 years remission, with a single spinal met to her T1. The Doctor said it is not hormone receptive even though her original cancer was. She's starting radiation, followed by Chemo.

Anyone else with bone mets that is not hormone receptive? I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the correct terminology. Unfortunately, I'm sure I'll learn. :(

Thanks,

CM

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that your mom is dealing with recurrence. I have two spots of spine metastases that are not hormone receptor positive. It is my understanding that a recurrence can sometimes have different characteristics than the original cancer. I don't know how frequently that happens but apparently it can happen. My earlier cancer was also hormone negative so in my case, it did not change. You may want to check out the stage IV triple negative and stage IVbone mets threads as well for good info.
