TE & Capsular Contracture

I have completed my fills and am awaiting my exchange scheduled for April 13th (woo hoo!). At my last fill, my PS noted that I have a grade III capsular contracture. I am guessing this problem will fix itself in that she will remove the capsule when she takes out the expanders but does this mean I am more likely to develop the same problem with my inplants? I am doing my daily massages although honestly these rocks in my chest don't move all that much these days. Anyone else had capsule issues with their expanders and if so how was your outcome? Thanks ladies

Sorry no one has answered you, so I will take a crack at it. Capsular contracture is fairly common, here are things I have read in research help treat/prevent capsular contracture. Accolate has been used in research to treat capsular contracture,, but have to be careful because of possible liver problems with it. Other things which help are using textured rather than smooth implants. Using Acellular Dermal Matrix stuff such as Stratice or Alloderm has been shown in some research to delay or prevent capsular contracture. Another newer thing is the use of Low Level Laser Therapy, 904 nm wavelength. I listed the latest research I found about it, but there is more research that was done a few years ago in Australia. You can actually rent the laser used in this research for $350/month from the company that makes them . Another thing , listed for women who had rads, was the use of Pentoxifylline and Vitamin Prophylaxis to prevent Capsular contracture. I took the Pentoxifylline /Vitamin E for about a year for help with rad fibrosis damage. It helped with that and gave me no problems. I plan to goback on it to prevent capsular contracture /rad fibrosis reoccurrence.

Thank you so much for this information and for your reply. I really appreciate your input. I will definitely discuss the Accolate with my PS. These expanders are getting harder every day!!!
