Places to find SoCal doctor recommendations?

Hello all,

Really surprised at how poorly sites like Yelp, Healthgrades, ZocDoc, etc. represent BC doctors. Very few reviews/ratings out there.

Is there a discussion board here or elsewhere where members can recommend various cancer centers and specific doctors in local areas? For me specifically, it would be Orange County, California or Los Angeles (though OC is preffered).

Any recommendations for cancer centers and sugeons? And/or any to avoid?

    Hi LC. I'm sorry that you're going through this. I had my BMX at Cedar Sinai in LA, and was very happy with my surgeon. His name is Dr. Scott Karlen. My medical oncologist is Dr. Van Scoy-Mosher. He's very smart and compassionate.

    The breast cancer center at Cedar Sinai is phenomenal. Everyone is fantastic.

    Dr Karen Lane at UCIrvine did my tricky wide local excision of axillary recurrence after I did neoadjuvant chemo locally in southern Riverside county. I found her very communicative, open, kind.

    @hsant: While I'm still considering Cedar (have heard good things), really hoping to find a good team here in O.C. if possible, but good to know your experience was positive.

    @hsant: thank you, have also seen good things about Dr. Lane. Did you also have a plastic surgeon that teamed with her that you might also recommend?

    hello! I have very recently been diagnosed of IDC and I am very new to OC. Can anyone suggest me some surgeon or oncologist in OC? I am feeling really lost and don't even know where to begin. Right now I am considering contacting UCLA for surgery however for continued radiation I would need oncologist locally in OC. I am 29yrs old and diagnosed with Stage 1 IDC. Please help.
