    Hi Rodeogirl,

If many is right and chemotherapy makes things better, then you won't need to worry about these symptoms any longer.

For now, I do empathize as my liver is swollen and pushes into other nearby organs - affecting breathing, reducing appetite and causing reflux, bringing nausea and pain.

I find it best to wear loose-fitting clothes like drawstring or hip-hugger pants, to do few forward bends, lie down often and to sit at an angle. Right now, I'm propped on pillows, so my belly has room to move.

Also, I'm careful about when and what I eat to avoid getting overly full and also reflux at night.

Alcohol and other toxic things just don't work for me.

And some medications I take under my tongue to avoid taxing my liver.

Rodeogirl, please talk with your doctor before adjusting how you take your meds.

And ask for a referral to palliative care (not hospice) to help get your pain and symptoms under control. Something like anti-nausea meds may be helpful as would some pain control measures. And maybe some anti-anxiety meds to help you get through this period of waiting for chemo to kick in and your symptoms to decrease.

    warm healing wishes, Stephanie
