I am scheduled for lumpectomy surgery on April 1st. I was wondering if this surgery (or radiation and chemo which will follow) will cause loss of sensation to my breast?

owens, My tumor was close to the chest wall. I may have lost some sensation, but very minimal. It does take a little while and rads probably contributes, too. Best wishes for an easy peasy surgery!

Thank you, keepthefaith. I am glad to hear that the sensation loss for you was minimal. And maybe you will recover the loss of sensation as time passes.

I am nervous about all of this, but I am so glad to have found this website.

i had mine on wednesday and i still have sensation in my nipple. I was warned by the doctor that the radiation will make that stop though. That makes me sad but in the scheme of things....
