Just curious if any of you ladies with benign breast conditions that are in menopause are taking any type of HRT. I had a breast biopsy at age 46, it was benign but there was minimal focus of FEA and some other things, the margins contained no atypia. I then had to have a complete hysterectomy not due to my breast condition but due to excessive bleeding and pain that turned out to adenomyosis of my uterus. Anyways my ob/gyn said no HRT because I had the breast abnormality but the surgeon who is a breast cancer survivor and is on HRT disagreed. I do not take HRT just because I dont want to risk it, but have always been confused that so many doctors are so divided on this issue. The surgeon said that alot of things happen to your body without hormones other than just hot flashes. My ob/gyn says HRT doesnt do anything but help aleviate hot flashes. Its just confusing and wondered if any of you had been through the same.
