    Hi sophi:

I am sorry to hear about your mother's recurrence. Your questions are probably best addressed by her doctors, who are most familiar with the details of her case (individual prognosis), and with the known clinical evidence for the potential efficacy of any particular drug regimen in patients in her situation (how well does the recommended treatment work in the usual case).

There is a specific Forum for Stage IV and Metastatic Breast Cancer here, which is "for Stage IV members only or those posting on behalf of a Stage IV patient":

    Stage IV Forum: https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8

If you know what drug regimen she will be receiving, you may be able to find a relevant thread to learn more about it.

One thread of interest to you may be "How are people with liver mets doing?" found here:

    https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/8/topics/...

There is also a Forum "For Family and Caregivers of Members with STAGE IV Diagnosis," where family members, caregivers, loved ones of Members having a Stage IV (metastatic) Diagnosis can talk, exchange and support one another:

    https://community.breastcancer.org/forum/144

Hope you can find some helpful information and support there.

    Best,

    BarredOwl
