Anyone with liver mets? Abdominal swelling, worse after eating

For the last few days we've noticed my moms getting bloated after she eats. She's able to eat a good amount throughout the day but the burping and bloating after is bothering her. And it's worst at night, and the abdomen looks a little bloated just looking at it.

She starts chemo tomorrow for liver mets that we recently found out have progressed.

Are there any long term survivors here with liver mets? If the chemo works should these symptoms get better?

Burping and bloating are such universal issues that I hope you will not take them as a barometer of your mom's progress or regression...Yes they should be mentioned to the physician. Perhaps she could try supplements that help break down substances such as Lactaid tablets and Beano tablets.. Or maybe it would work to eliminate certain foods from the diet. I was devastated to learn Dec. 15 that mets had "exploded" in my liver. Keep hanging in with the oncologists, do your own research and know that the road is full of progressions and regressions. Wish it were easier. She is lucky to have caring children. God Bless all. Carolyn from Music City
