Arimidex and excessive urination

I haven't been here in a long time so forgive me if this has been asked before. I started taking Arimidex a few months ago and I am peeing like crazy! It starts about an hour after taking it(at bedtime) and I am up all night going to the bathroom. It stops after about eight to ten hours. Needless to say, I am not getting much sleep and don't have the energy to do anything. Is this just temporary, will it eventually go away? Or does it last the whole time you take it? I'm going to be on it for five years. Thanks for any help.

Hi Ebony, I have been on arimidex for two years and have noticed no change in urination frequency whatsoever. You can try taking it in the morning and see whether it makes any difference.

• Hi EbonyEyes, I am new to this forum and new to the medication like you seem to have been 4years ago. I am having frequent peeing or urge to pee while taking Arimidex (and Zoladex) as well. Has it gone away after a while or did you have to put up with it the whole time? If it didn’t go away, what did you do? It feels unbearable at times... Thank you.

Hi, I am on Tamoxifen, but suffered with this as well when I first started. You can blame it on the decrease in your estrogen level.
