New spot, only seen on MRI. Anyone else?

Options

I am five years post cancer in right breast (IDC stage 2 or 3, node negative). My screening MRI just showed a 7mm mass in my left breast. The mass could not be seen on Mammogram or Ultrasound. Now I'm waiting to do an MRI guided biopsy The mass enhanced uniformly, was T2 hyper-intense. Both of these things suggest benign but of course there's no way to know without doing the biopsy. Anyone else have a mass that was only seen on MRI?

Just trying to keep emotions under control until I'm sure that there is something to worry about. Doing research and reading other peoples' stories makes me feel better....probably just keeps my mind busy.

Yes. Shortly after my diagnosis with one malignant mass and right before my LX, an MRI found two more masses (not seen on ultrasound or mammogram ... I have extremely dense breasts). One of them was about 2.5 cm and considered (and confirmed to be) malignant; the other was just a tad smaller and was probably benign but required a biopsy. The surgeon decided to leave the third mass until after my LX. About three weeks later, I had the biopsy and it came back benign. Hope yours does

sig76...Women with dense breasts can have lumps that only show up on MRI. Also ILC is hard to detect and many times can only be seen on a MRI. That being said MRIs can have false positives which can lead to multiple biopsies. Try to remember they have to prove its malignant. Good luck and keep us posted....
