Making surgery decision

I just received the receptor status for my multifocal IDC tumors (3 found so far) E+ Pr+ Her2-, (grade 1) had my consult with my breast surgeon yesterday, and will have an MRI and consult with plastic surgeon next week. I don't have all the facts yet, but am still trying to decide on surgery. Let me begin by saying I am VERY large breasted (42G) and there is no way if I go with a unilateral mastectomy that I would want to replicate it. I am actually excited about getting smaller breasts out of this. This leaves me with two options for the left side: reduction to match the smaller implant size I would choose on the right, or a bilateral. I am not entertaining bilateral out of fear of getting cancer on that side, only to have a more symmetrical look. I know it's a bigger surgery. I've had 3 major abdominal surgeries in the last 4 years. I'm not scared (but I am quite scarred, so worrying about extra scars is not big deal at this point.) With all the scars I've already got going on, it would be nice if my breasts at least were close to the same size and shape (and facing the same direction, which right now is straight down...very pendulous)

Anyway: has anyone done a unilateral with reduction on the other side and been pleased with the results? Has anyone who did not like their large breasts going into surgery still regret having a bilateral, and would rather have their large uncomfortable breast back?

Thanks for your help

I've even heard of people having a lumpectomy on one breast and a reduction on both. Apparently the reduction can be seen as reducing the risk of breast cancer too!

I don't have time to look up decisionfreaks thread, but you should be able to find it if you look.
