Update
Hi people
From the bottom of my heart thank you for the supportive and warm get better wishes. And the prayers.
I am much much better. Took myself off oxygen yesterday afternoon and have been able to sustain O2 levels at 93-98 without O2.Really wanted to ditch that O2 line up my nose. 😉 Lungs are clearing and I'm doing exercises and cough up the pneumonia crap. The miracle of our bodies can be pretty amazing. Eating and walking around. May try some outside walking in a few days
Realized my body was trashed. Decided good thing to have 3 week break from treatment. Maybe time to look at other Tx options.
So. My fight is back on. I feel much better. I don't give up and I try to not panic. (Lol) you all have helped me find my way out of the helplessness I felt. Thank you. I know I'll be ok. Only good wishes for all of us dealing with this horrible disease.
Hugs and more hugs

HI Diana,
Thanks for your update!
So glad you're feeling better, stronger, and able to get off O2. I hate those nose tubes too.
Wishing you continued healing and clarity, Stephanie

Diana, Woohoo that you are feeling better and getting your fight back. Take your time with the recovery process and don't overdo things. We are all here supporting you.

Diana,
Great news! I'm thinking that maybe, just maybe this horrible experience may be a blessing in disguise. The break from treatment seems like it's much needed. And it may indeed just jump-start that immune system! Stay strong and take excellent care of yourself… you've got a whole lot of us cheering you on.
Love to you…
Rose.

I just love to read this Diana! I've said it before but will say it again, you are an inspiration for me! Hugs and more hugs coming your way.

My dear friend,
....you said in your post, and to so many other women, do not give up, just another stupid bump on the road.
This is YOU, and when I have those bumps, I remember your advice. It will pass......it will. Do never forget...It will pass.
Big hugs,
Carol

Great to hear from you, Diana, so happy to read you are doing better. Take it easy and rest, rest, rest. Big hugs to you!
-
Oh my gosh Diana, I am so relieved to hear that. My heart is feeling so happy! Like Lynne said, "Don't over do it" which is usually our first inclination when we feel better. I too think the break was good for you and yes, our bodies can be amazingly resilient! Take care Diana!
-
Diana,
Great news that you are feeling better! I'm so glad you had your sister there.
Sending you warm wishes for a quick recovery!
-
Such great news Diana!!!!!!! Remember to rest and drink fluids and rest more and drink more fluids. This flu season has been a tough one and it seems to take a long time to really get over it. The break is a needed one so that you can fight on!!!!!!! Not today cancer...nope!
It is supposed to be beautiful and warm this week in California....Enjoy the warmth and beauty. I drove up the state today and the wildflowers were just spectacular....I smiled the whole drive just looking at the beauty nature creates for us to enjoy if we take the time to see it.
I am so happy that you are feeling better! Thinking all positive thoughts for you!
-
I am looking forward to some Calif warm too! Take it easy Diana!
-
So glad to hear that you have experienced so much healing in just five days. Yes, our bodies are amazing. And it is also amazing how we are riding a roller coaster - our lows can feel just so low. I am so glad you found strength in ours and your belief in your ability to heal.
-
Hugs back at you!! So happy for you. Upward and onward!

crap. I spent 10 days in the hospital with the very same reason! And continued chemo as well. I don't feel half my lungs when I breathe right now.. Sometimes wake up suffocated (thought death in sleep would be easier, ugh) anyway... Now out of hospital.. Dh banned me from going anywhere crowded. He's trying soooo hard to support me. His business is not going good and now me crarshing him. Last night we had a worament tournament with dh & ds. Felt so happy for a bit. Guess I 'll be around for a bit more..
Love

Glad you will be around for a bit more ..
Saw lung doctor yesterday. He will not clear me for chemo until I have follow up scan in two weeks to be sure lungs are totally clear. So I will have been off chemo for 3 weeks. Anyone else either take a chemo break or had to take a break b-c illness ? Scares me. Thinking the cancer is growing like crazy. Scares me
The lung doc said my body and lungs needs to recover. I kinda agree b/c never want hospital and pneumonia again. Horrible. Praying the cancer won't take off in my belly and cause havoc. At least I'm feeling better. That's worth a million bucks.
Sending healing vibes to all

Diana, I had about a 5 week break early last year Taxotere while I was waiting for a clinical trial drug and it was heavenly. I was able to shake out some of the chemo and be on no drugs whatsoever for a period of time and I felt amazing. Try not to worry about the pause, but instead think of it as a break your body desperately needs and enjoy every darn moment of it. Rest, recover, enjoy the little pleasures in life. Not today, cancer!
-
Nancy Thank You😉👍😘. I already feel better being off chemo. My Hemogloblin is 10.3. Lol. And I Never want to be in the hospital with pneumonia again.
I had told my oncologist early on that I wanted to die from cancer and NOT complication from treatment. Like pneumonia. Or other stuff.
Allowing my body to heal the next few weeks. I guess we roll with the punches.
Not today cancer. Nope.
Only positive vibes to everyone.

I am so sorry to hear this Diana.I hope you are home and resting comfortably now.
Not today cancer...or tomorrow either. Keep rollin' Diana, I love your uplifting posts!

Hi Diana,
Yes, I do understand the "I don't ever want to do this again" experiences that can come with cancer. And also the body's tremendous resilience and ability to recover from treatment and serious illness. May your body regain in strength, allowing you to reenter treatment when the time is ripe.
Keep taking life one healing step at a time.
warmest healing wishes, Stephanie

Hi Ebru,
I don't think we've ever met or posted at the same topic before, because your participation here at bco slowed down just about the time I began writing.
Wanted to let you know I remember you from your earlier posts and have always appreciated what you've shared.
Wanted to offer well wishes for healing from your big hospitalization for pneumonia. May you too regain strength and stamina as your body's self-healing capacity wells up again, dear Ebru.
May your moments of happiness expand to embrace all your days and nights, all your family and all your entire being.
warmest regards from California, Stephanie

Diana, I've read of several women lately who have taken chemo breaks for weeks and were so very glad. They had no progression to speak of and their bodies were able to recoup very well. Just do what feels good to you. I hope you get some Spring Renewal!
