looking for doctors

Hello... I'm looking for doctors for double mastectomy and reconstruction. I was released to my primary from my previous oncologist last year and have reason to believe the cancer has returned. I've been tested in many ways, all but biopsy. I chose to have double mastectomy because I want to live without the fear of it returning going through my 60's and beyond. So my concern right now is how do I approach this decision by finding doctors and the line up the order of how do i do this. Should I have an oncologist or do I find a surgeon and plastic surgeon and make the appointment to move forward. I'm looking for guidence to navigate and orchestrate this procedure. Can any one help me to approach all of this and what order to do first then second and third etc.

Depending on your insurance, you will likely have to start with your primary care physician who can then make referrals to oncologist, surgeons, etc. You will want to see a surgeon who specializes in breast cancer, a plastic surgeon who does the same, and an oncologist you can trust. Do not be afraid to get multiple opinions. If you are nearby a big medical center, you may be able to get all 3 in one place.
