Going from D to a Double Divot. What Size Will I be?

Options

Next Monday, my bmx will take me from a D to a double divot in four hours.

I've decided to try my hand at making clothes for myself. I've been looking at patterns, but I'm a bit flummoxed. How does the loss of the girls affect sizing? I mean, everything else is staying the same but there's going to be a six-inch drop in my bust measurement.

What does bmx do to your blouse/dress size?

I can't remember when I bought a top with a number size. Usually it's just large. One thing, you won't want anything with darts unless you're wearing foobs in a bra.

If you decide to wear foobs,, they can be any size, since you are having a BMX. You won't have to "match" the remaining breast like us uni-boobers do. You could continue to be a D if you want to get foobs in that size. Or you could decide to be a B,,,, or C,,

Most sewing patterns are designed for a b-cup bust size. You might want to choose your size based on your "high bust" or possibly the "measure from arm seam to arm seam method." You'll find a post about that second method from Stitcher's Guild "here."

I went from a 42DDD to flat. I am guite comfortable being flat around the house. I went to a bra fitting and was just going to get a flat bra but for the heck of it I tried the C cups. I was amazed at how comfortable the prosthetics were and how nice clothes fit at that size. When I have them on I can't even tell that they're not real. It definitely changes the size of shirts. I went from a 4x to a 2x.

I'm still the same size medium on top that I was before BMX. I thought I'd go to a size small on top, but when I try on small tops they're too tight in the shoulders and waist. You might also stay the same size, just not fill in the top as much. And when I want to fill in the top a little I use a coobie style bra with filler or fill in a lot I wear the prosthetics with mastectomy bra.

My dress size is still an 8 because of my waist and hips. But sheath dresses fit better now on top, as do button down shirts. I can look thin or curvy now.

I have found that it will really depend on the style of clothes you're going for. I buy alot of Ann Taylor for work and so I've bought several button-front tops in one size below what I wore previously. However, with the sweaters, I went from an XL to a Medium because most of the sizing was for the front bust area, which now no longer exists on me. I now also look much better in a business jacket. I thought I'd be scared of how I looked and I definitely don't like anything for work that is so snug that you can see the concaveness of my chest. But I have found quite alot of combination of work clothes that look really good on me, and as my mother says now, I look alot thinner without my large bust. lol
