edited February 2016 in Benign Breast Conditions

Hi I'm Amanda. I'm 32 and I have a family history of early breast cancer. I recently found a good size lump. The surgeon said it is 4cm wide by almost 5 cm. So my little story that has left me confused...

I had my mammo and ultrasound. The radiologist said I am sure its benign but I'd like to biopsy it just in case. If you want the whole the out for piece of mind I'll send you to the surgeon. So off I went. The surgeon feels the lump and says to me very confidently. I am 90% sure this is cancer and don't want to remove it without a biopsy.

What am I supposed to think now?

The surgeon said the only good thing about it is that it has smooth edges. I thought all cancers had not smooth edges?

Anyone else have this happen or would like to share their story to help ease my mind?
