Type 1 diabetes & chemo

anyone else with type 1 diabetes? I'm just diagnosed and told I need chemo before surgery Everything I've read said they give steroids during chemo and we all no that's a no-no with diabetes.

    I'm T2 on a pump. Watch your bg real close, extra sticks. Make sure the nurses are aware, they can decrease the 'roids a bit. The effects only last a day or two, stay well hydrated. During chemo my a1c was the last thing on my mind, wasn't eating much, just let the basal handle it.

    I'm type 2 and the steroids didn't knock me too far off-kilter.
