not wanting to take Tamoxifen

Has anyone not taken tamoxifen? ? Dr's making me feel guilty ..I has Lcis surgically removed 2/8 nit invasive or aggressive

    I'm not taking anything. I can't take tamoxifen or evista because I had a prior PE. I don't want to take an AI because of other medical reasons.

    kimca2000 I have not taken any anti hormones so far. I have a debilitating autoimmune disease and am concerned about QOL. This is a very personal decision. Everyone should make a well informed decision. I did have a BMX however. PM me if you want to talk in more detail. Good luck.....

    As the others have said, its a very individual decision. One person might have increased risk factors for a certain adverse effect of tamoxifen. Some people have adverse effects to tamoxifen, and others don't. Some people have severe reactions, and other people have mild reactions, and some have no reactions.

    I am not taking anything yet, though my diagnosis is fairly recent. I will be having surgery soon.

    Update...just got my results back from excisional biopsy, more LCIS but that is all (nothing invasive) but now I have been referred to an oncologist to discuss the pros and cons of taking tamoxifen. I am 40, never had kids and the only family history I know of is a second cousin on my mom's side.
